Grana Padano is an Italian DOP hard, cooked and slowly matured cheese. It is produced in thirty-two provinces: Emilia-Romagna, Lombardy, Piedmont, Trentino-Alto Adige, where it is called Trentingrana (limited to the autonomous province of Trento), and Veneto; all the stages of the production chain (rearing and milking of the cows, collection and processing of the milk into cheese, maturing, grating if necessary) must necessarily take place in the area of origin.
